CMPI is thrilled to welcome 13 new fellows to the program this year, joining 37 returning fellows from the Chicago area. The cohort includes students in 6th through 10th grades, with five flute players, two tuba players, three violinists, one violist, and two cellists.

Adarsh Milind Reddy
Adarsh is an 8th grader who plays the cello and composes. He is a student at the Merit School of Music. He attended Interlochen Arts Camp this past summer and recently won first prize in a local competition.
Alexander Liscano
Alex is an 8th grader who plays the violin. He is part of El Sistema Ravinia and studies at the Music Institute of Chicago. He participated in region orchestra and has had the honor of playing for Midori Goto and Ayano Ninomiya.
Cynthia Melecio
Cynthia is an 8th grader who plays the flute. She is a student at Merit’s Tuition-Free Conservatory and has attended several band camps. She also plays piano, guitar, sings, acts, and dances.
Greta Sileika
Greta is a 6th grader who plays the viola. She is a student at Merit’s Tuition-Free Conservatory and loves playing in orchestra. This summer she performed at Millenium Park.
Isaiah Alexzander Hernandez
Isaiah is a 7th grader who plays the tuba. He enjoys learning new instruments and difficult pieces.
Jonathan Texis Ibarra
Jonathan is a 10th grader who plays the tuba. He plays in a number of wind and jazz ensembles at his school, as well as in Midwest Young Artists Orchestra. He has participated in ILMEA junior band and attended summer music camps.
Kailey Yamileth Hidalgo Martínez
Kailey is a 9th grader who plays the flute. She is a student at Merit’s Tuition-Free Conservatory, and takes music theory and private lessons.
Kymbella Tremaine
Bella is a 9th grader who plays the flute. She participated in junior All State band and enjoys performing with piano. She studies at the Merit School of Music.
Miles Bryant Tekie
Miles is an 8th grader who plays the violin. This summer he attended OPUS chamber music camp. He studies at the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute and was fortunate to have a masterclass with Njioma Grievous.
Oshmith Roy
Oshmith is a 10th grader who plays the flute. This summer he toured Italy with his youth orchestra. He plays in the Encore Symphony Orchestra and is a sub with the Lake Geneva Symphony. He performed in ILMEA All State as a freshman and has won prizes in numerous competitions, including Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, Wisconsin Flute Festival Junior Soloist Competition, Encore Music Academy Concerto Competition, and O’Malley Foundation National Concerto Competition.
Torrhi Jenkins
Torrhi is an 8th grader who plays the flute. She participates in El Sistema Ravinia. She also plays the guitar and trumpet.
Yasmin Al Zahabi
Yasmin is a 10th grader who plays the violin. She studies with the esteemed violin teacher Almita Vamos and plays in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in All State and also soloed with her school orchestra and the Sunflower Chamber Orchestra.
Yemayá Morgan
Yemayá is a 6th grader who plays the cello. She performs with the Hyde Park Youth Symphony and has attended OPUS chamber music camp. She also plays piano, guitar, voice, drums, and keyboard.
