CMPI is pleased to announce our second-annual fundraising event, Opening Doors 2023! We look forward to gathering in Symphony Center’s spacious Buntrock Hall on Wednesday, October 11 at 6:30pm for an evening that celebrates our student fellows – including live performances! – and expands our community of support.
We are particularly excited to share that that community includes internationally acclaimed concert violinist, recording artist, educator, and philanthropist Rachel Barton Pine, who joins us as our special guest. Ms. Pine is not only a leading interpreter of all the great classical masterworks, but also a particular champion of works by Black composers. She has recorded multiple violin concertos by Black composers on major labels, and her Music by Black Composers project has made these works more readily accessible for study and performance by professionals and students alike. We look forward to hearing what she will have to share!
As CMPI’s goal is to help our student fellows progress on their path in music, opening doors of opportunity for them on their way, we hope you will consider how you might help us keep those doors open. Whether that’s by purchasing a ticket to the event, becoming a sponsor or even just by sharing this article with others in your network, CMPI cannot do this work without the support of people like you!
Thank you, and we hope to see you on October 11.
