Dear Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative community,

The holiday season is upon us! I hope everyone had a meaningful and safe Thanksgiving and/or Native American Heritage Days. I will not lament these trying/unusual circumstances in which we find ourselves this season because there still are so many reasons to be thankful! As the CMPI Project Director, I am grateful to share some of my reasons in this latest newsletter, located below, which features stories about our outstanding students, faculty, and mentors.

Before we become overwhelmed with online gift shopping and virtual holiday planning, let’s take a moment to be mindful of what’s most important: the people in our lives and the intangible aspects we value.  Mentorship, dedication, leadership, self-confidence, fairness, faith…and the list goes on and on.

This #GivingTuesday, give the gift of art, opportunity, and access for Chicago’s exceptional young musicians. Click here to give the gift of real, meaningful change to the classical music landscape in America.

Please also allow me to give thanks to the CMPI staff and families who so tirelessly work behind the scenes to carve a pathway for talented student musicians from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. Our vision for representation in classical music will come to fruition.

Thank you for your continued support and have the happiest of holidays.

Sincerely,

Adrienne Thompson
